Du cinéma populaire au cinéma d’auteur, Evgueni et Sacha Galperine déploient un style percutant, au service de l’image et de l’histoire, tout en laissant transparaître un goût prononcé pour l’expérimentation musicale, la recherche de sons organiques et novateurs. S’inscrivant dans un courant minimaliste, entre Arvo Pärt et Trent Reznor, la musique des deux frères se caractérise par un certain dépouillement, une quête obsédante de l’accord juste et incisif.

Dés 2013, le surprenant Farewell de « THE HUNGER GAMES » ou l’ambiance éreintante de la série « BARON NOIR » annoncent un virage plus radical.
À ce jeu, « LOVELESS » d’Andrey Zvyagintsev représente une pièce majeure et définit très justement la patte audacieuse et novatrice des frères Galperine. Il suffit d’écouter 11 cycles of E, morceau bâti sur une seule note, un seul rythme et un seul accord pour se convaincre de l’ingéniosité du duo et de sa capacité d’apporter au film un vrai complément d’histoire.

Depuis Evgueni et Sacha Galperine continuent à se faire démarquer grace à des projets importants du cinema d’auteur Européen ou américain. On peut citer une premiere collaboration avec François Ozon sur « GRÂCE À DIEU » (Ours d’Argent à Berlin), « BEANPOLE » de Kantemir Balagov et « CORPUS CHRiSTI » de Jan Komasa (les deux films sont nommés aux OSCARS 2020 dans la catégorie « International Feature Film » , la série HBO « THE UNDOING », de Susanne Bier, GAGARINE » de Fannny Liatard et Jeremy Trouilh, L’ÉVÉNEMENT » d’Audrey Diwan, (Lion d’Or à Venise) et également la série HBO « SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE » de Hagai Levi (avec Jessica Chastain et Oscar Isaac),

En décembre 2022, Evgueni Galperine a sorti son premier album solo « THEORY OF BECOMING ». Le disque a été signé sur l’iconique label allemand ECM et mixé en présence de Manfred Eicher. La presse française et internationale le considère comme un des albums les plus originaux et les plus évocateurs de l’année, à tel point que Libération et Télérama lui consacrent une pleine page.

L’année 2024 confirme leur positionnement international avec une série de projets majeurs.
Ils signent la musique de la série à succès de Netflix UK « BABY REINDEER » (MON PETIT RENNE) de Richard Gadd, et la série Disney+ « BECOMING KARL LAGERFELD » de Jérôme Salle et Audrey Estrougo.
Le cinéma n’est pas en reste, avec le documentaire de Victor Kossakovski « ARCHITECTON », en compétition officielle au festival de Berlin ainsi que deux nouvelles collaborations avec le réalisateur François Ozon pour « QUAND VIENT L’AUTOMNE » et avec Audrey Diwan pour « EMMANUELLE » . Leur incursion dans l’univers Marvel se concrétise avec le film « KRAVEN THE HUNTER » de J.C Chandor (sorti en décembre 2024).

Enfin, la sortie en 2025 du film « LA PAMPA » d’Antoine Chevrolier (présenté à la Semaine de la Critique du Festival de Cannes 2024) vient asseoir leur capacité à naviguer entre les superproductions et les films d’auteur.

From mainstream to indie cinema, Evgueni and Sacha Galperine deploy a striking style that serves both the visuals and the narrative, while also revealing a strong penchant for musical experimentation and the search for organic and innovative sounds. Adhering to a minimalist movement, somewhere between Arvo Pärt and Trent Reznor, the two brothers’ music is characterized by a certain austerity, an obsessive quest for the right, incisive chord.

Beginning in 2013, the surprising « Farewell » from THE HUNGER GAMES and the wearying atmosphere of the series BARON NOIR signaled a more radical turn. In this vein, Andrey Zvyagintsev’s LOVELESS stands as a major work and perfectly defines the bold and innovative signature of the Galperine brothers. One only needs to listen to « 11 Cycles of E, » a piece built on a single note, a single rhythm, and a single chord, to be convinced of the duo’s ingenuity and their ability to provide the film with a true narrative complement.

Since then, Evgueni and Sacha Galperine have continued to stand out with important projects in European and American indie cinema. These include a first collaboration with François Ozon on BY THE GRACE OF GOD (Silver Bear at Berlin), Kantemir Balagov’s BEANPOLE and Jan Komasa’s CORPUS CHRiSTI (both films were nominated for the 2020 ACADEMY AWARDS in the ‘International Feature Film’ category), Susanne Bier’s HBO series THE UNDOING, GAGARINE by Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh, HAPPENING by Audrey Diwan (Golden Lion at Venice), and also the HBO series SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE by Hagai Levi (starring Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac).

In December 2022, Evgueni Galperine released his first solo album, THEORY OF BECOMING. The record was signed to the iconic German label ECM and mixed in the presence of Manfred Eicher. The French and international press consider it one of the most original and evocative albums of the year, so much so that Libération and Télérama dedicated a full page to it.

The year 2024 confirms their international standing with a series of major projects. They scored the music for the hit UK Netflix series BABY REINDEER by Richard Gadd, and the Disney+ series BECOMING KARL LAGERFELD by Jérôme Salle and Audrey Estrougo.
Cinema is not to be outdone, with Victor Kossakovsky’s documentary ARCHITECTON in official competition at the Berlin festival, as well as two new collaborations with director François Ozon for WHEN AUTUMN COMES and with Audrey Diwan for EMMANUELLE. Their foray into the Marvel universe is cemented with the film KRAVEN THE HUNTER by J.C. Chandor (released in December 2024).

Finally, the 2025 release of Antoine Chevrolier’s film LA PAMPA (presented at Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week in 2024) reinforces their ability to navigate between big-budget productions and arthouse films.
